Davina McCall, Nicky Campbell and all the Long Lost Family team have taken us on a very emotional journey over the last five weeks. Tonight’s episode is the last in the series.
Tonight we meet Alley Lofthouse, who has always known that she was adopted. The circumstances of her adoption are unlike any other case we have seen on Long Lost Family. When she was just a few hours old, Alley was found on the steps of a block of flats in Scotland. In 2003 Alley began a search to find out where she came from but she did not expect to make a breakthrough. Following coverage of her search in local media and support for her search on social media, she received a letter from a man called Iain. He told her that he too had been found on the steps of the same block of flats in identical circumstances just 18 months after Alley was found. They decided to take a DNA test and to both their amazement they discovered that they were half siblings. Tonight the Long Lost Family team take up the search for Alley’s birth parents.
Next we meet Jade Hartley, a 32 year old hairdresser from Durham. Jade is searching for her father, Tony King. Tony had been in relationship with Jade’s mother while he was on a cricket exchange from Barbados. The relationship fell apart and Tony returned to Barbados shortly afterwards. All Jade has to go on is a photograph from a newspaper article about her father. The Long Lost Family team take on the challenge and Nicky jets off to Barbados, but will he find Tony? Tune in and find out.
