English (Leicestershire): possibly a variant spelling of Jubber, an occupational name for a maker either of woolen garments, from an agent derivative of Middle English jube, or of large vessels, from Middle English jobbe. Alternatively, it may derive from the personal name Joubert. Japanese (Juba): ‘ten places’. The name is not common in Japan.
