This surname is also found in some other parts of Europe, e.g. in Britain, Poland, and France (Alsace and Lorraine); see also 2 below.
In part, Kramer is a Gottscheerish (i.e. Gottschee German) surname originating from the Kočevsko region in Lower Carniola, Slovenia (see Kocevar). Compare Kraemer.
