Usually a variant of Campion (a Lincs name since medieval times) along with Campin, Campen, and Campan. However, Campion may sometimes have been a variant of the much rarer name Campain in (2).

From one of the several places named Campagne in Pas-de-Calais or that in Oise. If this family name or that in (ii) have survived into the modern period (for which no certain evidence has been found) they may have been confused with and absorbed into Campion; see (1).
