Yom Surname Meaning

Korean (Yŏm): there is only one Yŏm clan. It was originally known as the Yŏm family from Tanwŏn County (Kyŏnggi Province) but the name of this county was changed to P’aju County. The Yŏm family was very influential throughout the Koryŏ Kingdom until Yŏm Hŭng-bang, a powerful court official, was executed for treason by the Koryŏ King U (1374–87).

The clan never recovered its former glory. Compare Yeom and Yum.

Chinese: variant of Yum.

Cambodian: written យ៉ុម.

Unexplained.
