Whitbrook Family History

Whitbrook Surname Meaning

Possibly from a lost or unidentified place named with Old English hwīt ‘white’ + brōc ‘brook stream’. Alternatively, perhaps from Withybrook (Warwicks) which is recorded as Wythebrok in 1535 and derives from Old English wīðig ‘withy willow’ + brōc; see Osbert de Withibrok 1319 in Patent Rolls (Tamworth Warwicks).
