English (Northumberland): topographic or occupational name from Middle English trone ‘weighing machine’ (Old French trone) denoting someone who lived by a public balance or someone in charge of such apparatus.

Vietnamese (Tròn): meaning ‘round circle’ in Vietnamese possibly from a personal name.
