Stanislaw Family History
Stanislaw Surname Meaning
Americanized or Germanized form of Slovak and Czech Stanislav. Polish: from the personal name Stanisław (see Stanislav). This surname is very rare in Poland.
In North America this surname apparently also originated from a transferred use of the Polish personal (given) name Stanisław as a surname (i.e. as a replacement of the original surname).
It may also be an American shortened form of the Polish surname Stanisławski (see Stanislawski).
