Rinne Surname Meaning
Finnish: ornamental name from rinne ‘slope’ widely adopted in the name-changing campaigns of the late 19th and early 20th centuries by Finns with Swedish surnames in southern, southwestern, and central Finland and southern Ostrobothnia (compare Laine).
In some cases, however, this is also a habitational name from farms so named.
German: topographic name from Middle High German rinne ‘stream, spring’; ‘channel, pipe’.
