Kerin Surname Meaning

Irish (Clare): variant of Kieran. Slovenian: probably from an old vernacular form of the Latin personal name Quirinus (see Quirin compare German Kehr and Croatian Kirin) borne by an early Christian martyr venerated among Slovenes.

Alternatively it may be a topographic name derived from dialect ker ‘crag’ (compare Cherin) or an altered form of Kern.
