Sulston Family History
Sulston Surname Meaning
Apparently from Southstone Rock in Stanford on Teme (Worcs) which is recorded as Sulstan, Suleston in 1214, Solughstone in 1353, and Soulston in 154.
The place-name derives from Old English sulh ‘furrow’ (here applied to a deep-cut valley) + stān ‘stone’ which by a regular sound change became Middle English ston(e).
