Polish: unexplained.

Filipino: nickname from Tagalog liban literally ‘to skip to omit’ and ‘absence’ but also interpreted as ‘exception’ or ‘exemption’.

Somali: from the personal name Liban interpreted as e.g. ‘success(ful)’. It is also found in Ethiopia and Kenya.

— Note: Since Somalis traditionally do not have hereditary surnames this name was in most cases registered as such only after immigration of its bearers to the US.
