Belorussian: ethnic name for a Cossack (see Kozak).
Turkish: ornamental name (or perhaps in some cases an ethnic name) from Kazak which means both ‘Kazakh’ and ‘Cossack’ (see Kozak).
It can also derive from kazak ‘light horseman of the Cossack military unit’ or any of its regional or archaic homonyms.
