Giudice Family History
Giudice Surname Meaning
Italian: occupational name for an officer of justice giudice (from Latin iudex from ius ‘law’ + dicere ‘to say’) or for the servant of a judge and perhaps also a nickname for a solemn and authoritative person thought to behave like a judge.
In the Middle Ages the judicial role was less specialized than now and would have included administrative, political, and even military functions.
Compare Lo Giudice and Judice.
