Cash Surname Meaning

English (Cheshire and Lancashire): variant of Case or alternatively perhaps a metonymic occupational name for a maker of boxes from Middle English cashe ‘box chest to keep wares in’ (Old French casse). Irish (Tipperary and Wexford): in Ireland Cash and Cass may derive from the epithet cas ‘curly-haired’ or be a variant of Casey.

However, it is more likely to be the English surname. Americanized form of German Kirch or Kirsch.
