Barham Family History
Barham Surname Meaning
English: habitational name from any of various places so called in Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Kent, Sussex, and Devon. Most, for example those in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk, are named with Old English beorg ‘hill’ + hām ‘homestead’.
The one in Kent, however, is from an unattested Old English byname Biora, Beora (a derivative of bera ‘bear’) + hām.
