Hi,
I am seeking information of the grave/obituary for my GGG Grandfather Major General John Macarthur B: 1791, Plymouth Devon, England D:1862 Eton, Buckinghamshire, England. Any information you could provide would be wonderful.

Thank you for reading!

A simple death announcement (as McArthur) in the Bucks Herald on 2/8/1862 says he died at Gerrards Cross on the 28th July, so the most likely place for burial would be the parish church of St James on the Oxford Road.

Hi Shannon,
Do you have a copy of the death certificate? Ref: Vol 3a page 217. This is always important to obtain.

You have a notice given to you, but it is a case of elimination of where the burial may be. Eton covers a range of the Bucks area, so obtaining the certificate may help a bit further. It may just be a process of elimination so you could google the church mentioned and then write to them. It cannot do any harm.
Good luck
