Any info. appreciated. Contact by e-mail.

This must be Robert Parrett day! I just found who I believe to be my Robert Taylor Parrett buried in Elmwood Cemetary in Waterloo, IA. He was a Civil war Vet. in Co. K, 43rd Mo. Inf. and received a pension for same. His cemetary record has DOB: 1847, DOD: Aug. 22, 1933. Some correction on the children's names: Estella Elizabeth (my grandmother), Frank, Louise or Lottie, Ida, Violet or Ollie.

Robert was married to Anna O. Ventris and they must have divorced some time after the birth of the last child. Anna remarried Alfred Brown. The Ventris family shows up in the 1865 Atchison, KS census. There are many Parrett's in the Mt. Pleasant, KS cemetary but I don't know if any are related to Robert Parrett. My mother is positive that her mother (Estella Parrett) lived in OK at some point. Anna and Alfred Brown are buried in Stillwater, OK.

That's about all I know about Parretts. There is some family lore that somebody was hung for horse thieving; that somebody was thrown out of England for marrying beneath their station; and a divorce (Anna, I think). Little threads of truth--we just have to figure out how they fit together.

Does any of this sound familiar?
