My great grandfather, Ferdinand BUHK was born in Curslack ca (22 Nov?) 1859/9, he came to the US on the Furst Bismark, arriving in NY on 31 July 1891. He met my great grandmother, Lizzie HILLER, and they married (date circa 1893 per census). They had the following children, all born in what is now New York City:
Elizabeth Louisa (my grandmother) 19 Aug 1901- 19 Apr 1946
Julius T. H. - ca 1906 - 24 Jan 1927 (fell down an elevator shaft)
Julius Eduard - 20 February 1898 - 31 May 1900 (bronchitis)
Howard Tinus - 13 Dec 1899 - ?
Ferdinand August - 5 December 1893 - ?
Madge Annie (Madeline) - 12 July 1895 - ?
Emma Whilemina - 23 March 1903
Sometime after the last child was born, Ferdinand left the household. In the 1910 census Lizzie indicated she was married, in 1920 census she said she was a widow. No record of a death has been found, although I do have a record of Ferdninand coming back from a trip to Germany in 1924 and going to Chicago.
Ferdinand was a locksmith. I believe his father was Toennies Buhk (BUHCK) from Curslock, his mother Magdelana BOSE (born in Neuengamme). I also believe his siblings were Anna(b. 14 Aug 1855), Adolf (b. 29 Dec 1863), Julius (b. 28 July 1866), Rudolf (b. 6 April 1877), Rosa (b. 2 September 1870), Heinrich (b. ?) , and August (b. 6 December 1861).
Looking for any information about Ferdinand after 1906, his children, and his siblings.
