Dr. Howard M. Relles and a dedicated a group of volunteers (listed below) compiled this database from the National Archives microfilms of the record books in which the ships' passenger lists were recorded. This database contains the names of 52,647 persons who arrived in New York City during 1891 and had listed their country of citizenship as Austria, Poland, or Galicia. The volunteers included: Dena Abrams, Anna Axelrod, Merv & Naomi Barnett, Rosie Blum, Susan Farb, Marilyn & Scott Genzer, Rebecca Gerber, Chantal Taryn-Geyser, Joan Glasner, Ed Goldstein, Hanna Grossman, Stu Horwitz, Ben Karliner, Sylvia Nusinov, Joan Parker, Barbara Relles, Nancy Ring-Kendrick, Bob Rosenthal, Herb Rubenstein, Ralph Salinger, Joel Stearman, Greta Tedoff, and Paula Zieselman.
