About UK, Imperial Yeomanry Records, 1899-1902

This collection comprises attestation and discharge documents from the War Office of men who enrolled in the Imperial Yeomanry during the South African War. The Imperial Yeomanry was a mounted volunteer force of the British army, made up of just under 35,000 men, and saw action in the Second Boer War between 1899 and 1902. The force was disbanded in 1908.

The documents contain details of each man's place of birth, age and occupation and a full record of his service.
