Admiralty: Courts Martial Registers
Contains courts martial registers of the Portsmouth and Plymouth Divisions and several overseas battalions of the Royal Marines. These relate to courts of enquiry and civil power courts as well as to divisional, district, regimental, garrison and naval courts martial.
Judge Advocate General's Office: Field General Courts Martial and Military Courts, Registers
Consists of registers of charges of the Judge Advocate General's Office relating to field general courts martial and military courts. Records give the name, rank and regiment of each prisoner, place of trial, nature of the charge, and sentence. Please note that there is no volume 22.
Judge Advocate General's Office: District Courts Martial Registers, Home and Abroad
Comprises registers of district court martial at home and abroad from the Judge Advocate General's Office, from the institution of district courts martial in 1829. These district courts martial tried only non-commissioned officers and other ranks. The registers of charges give the name, rank and regiment of each prisoner, place of trial, nature of the charge and sentence.
Judge Advocate General's Office: General Courts Martial Registers, Confirmed at Home
Comprises registers from the Judge Advocate General's Office of general courts martial from the end of the eighteenth century. Included are some registers of both district and field general courts martial which were compiled in South Africa during the Boer War. The registers of charges give the name, rank and regiment of each prisoner, place of trial, nature of the charge and sentence, and cover trials of both officers and other ranks.
