About Kent, England, Tyler Collection of Misc Notes and Pedigrees of Kent Families

This is a collection of books that were compiled by Frank Watt Tyler of vital records for families from East Kent. It is called the Tyler Collection because he put together 3,240 books from parish registers for baptisms, marriages, and burials. Some books also contain a family tree or a family history.

These records differ from other birth, death, and marriage records because they have been compiled into family name records and not by date. Not all families have complete family trees or histories, but the books have put family members together so it is easier to find many records to help fill out large swaths of family history if the surname can be found in one of Tyler’s books.

Most books are titled with the surnames the notebook contains. Some surnames comprise more than one notebook. The collection can be browsed by book name or number.
