German: from a short form of a Germanic personal name formed either with rad, rat ‘advice’, ‘counsel’ or in some cases with hrad ‘quick’. Hungarian (Rádi): habitational name for someone from one of several places called Rád in Hungary. Muslim: from a personal name based on Arabic ra?di ‘satisfied’, ‘pleased’ (see the Qur’an 19:6).
