Norwegian (Langø): older form of Langøy a habitational name from any of several farmsteads so named from lang ‘long’ + øy ‘island’. Hispanic (mainly Mexico): possibly an altered form of Spanish Langa with the male suffix -o for matching with the sex of the bearer of the surname. East African (mainly Kenya): unexplained.
