Horman Name Meaning

Americanized form of German Hormann and Hörmann (see Hoermann ). English: of Norman origin perhaps a nickname from Middle English horeman ‘man who consorts with whores or adulterous women’. Whether this became a hereditary surname however is uncertain and some examples could be metathesized forms of Oram although evidence to prove this is lacking. English: late variant of Harman and Herman .
