Growing up my mum Lusia Nansen, daughter of Michael Thomas Nansen always told me that my ancestors were from Sweden. I note that my name Roine is a swedish name. Researching however I find the connection to Norway which at the moment still does not make sense since Firdijorf died and had a state funeral in Norway. All the names in the Norwegian explorers biography are noted in the Nansen clan e.g. Frederick, Hans etc. I think that I will attempt to research this further.

Hi Roine I am so glad to hear news about the Nansen family. I heard so many stories from my grandfather, Kabaua/Anes that Nansen and Mrs Teuea (Kiribati lady) got four children. Their names are: Tora or Dorothy Nansen, John Nansen in Samoa, Fred Nansen in America and Mrs Jane Nansen in the Carolines or Pohnpei.

Tora or Dorothy married three Kiribati men. Her first husband was Kamaua and got one daughter, Takeua or Meere. Her second husband called Tebau and got two children, Mrs Aoniba and Kabaua or Anes. Her third husband was called Katarake and got one son, Bureti. If anyone got news related to this Nansen, please email me thru:

You are all correct, You are all one family, but because there is a distance between us, and that cause us a problem to put up a true story about our Fidtjof Nansen. We have to be honest all., because the truth about our ancestor will come out from our stories and family tree..

Would you Answer this Questions?

How can we put together our stories?

What if we discuss face to face.?

Yes, It is good to know the origin of your roots.

Happy day to you all.
