My great grandmother was full blooded
cherokee indian. She lived in Randolph
County Al. and also in the last year or
two of her life in Clay County Al. She was
born in 1863. Her name was Elizabeth (Lizzie)
Smith. It gets a little complicated now. She
had two daughter's, Fannie Rebecca (my grandmother)
and Eula. I do not know who their father was.
Around 1900 she married James Hull. Apparently he was
abusive to the girls. They went to live with Robert and
Lula Boyd. They still saw their mother though. I do not know if the Boyd's were related to Elizabeth or not. I don't know who Elizabeth's parents were or if she had any brother's or sister's. I do know she had more children after she married James. I do not know their names. But I know there were at least five more children. I do have an article written about her in 1970. She had won the cook of the month contest. She was 107 at the time. If anyone has any information about her parents or any family, it would be appreciated.

Thanks, Cathy

Hi Heather, this is Beverly, your cousin. I have several articles where Gr Grandma Lizzie was interviewed by different reporters. I also have a copy of the Book, "Yes Sir, I Been Here A Long Time", where she was featured along with other's who were 100+ years old. I have been researching Gr Grandma Lizzie for a few years now and have a little information that I would love to share with you. I will contact you on Facebook and send you some things.
