My grandmother had an autograph book and have found an entry made by a Louis Calvo - Signaller 1/4 Batt Royal Sussex Regiment. Any relatives interested?

Hi! My Grandfather's name was Louis Calvo. I dont know too much about him seeing how I was 3 when he passed but I do know he lived his middle ages in TN. Could this be my Grandfather?

Hi

Sorry for the delay in replying. Could you send me your email address (as unable to retrieve it on here) so I can send you an attachment which is a copy of a drawing that Louis E (or G) Calvo did.

My grandmother Dorothy Frost served under the Joint War Committee of the British Red Cross and Order of St John during World War 1 from 1917-1919. She was a member of the Hertfordshire 32 British Red Cross Detachment based in New Barnet and worked at St James Hall V.A.D. Hospital, New Barnet, Hertfordshire, England. Dorothy had an autograph book which contrained poems and drawings from her friends, family, work colleagues and also from wounded soldiers from a variety of regiments that were recovering at the V.A.D. hospital.

Louis Calvo drew his regiment badge - The Royal Sussex Regiment and he signed it. He was a Lance Corporal, Signaller, 1/4th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment, Worthing and the drawing is dated 14th July 1915 (so looks like she worked at Hospital prior to 1917 - unless he was not a wounded soldier and was known to the family!!)

So have now copy of this drawing on my computer in which I can attach to an email when have your address if you are still interested. Thanks

Suzanne King
