MacKinnon/McKinnon/McKinon... Help pleas I have been trying to piese together the family history, but so far I've gotten no where.

Mother: Alma May MacKinnon, b-NH 8/8/1910;d-MA 7/1980.

Grandfather: Edward Chambers MacKinnon (McKinnon/McKinon), b-Malagash (Cumberland Co.), Nova Scotia 7/11/1874; d-Attleboro, MA 1/30/1938. Wife: Alma Elizabeth Chambers

Great GF: John MacKinnon (McKinnon/McKinon), b-Coll, Scotland 8/6/1828; d-Nova Scotia 7/22/1893
Wife: Elizabeth Chambers

GG Grand Father: John MacKinnon (McKinnon/McKinon), b-Coll, Scotland 8/1794; d-Nova Scotia 8/12/1857
Wife: Belle McLean

That is from old family records, but those records use all three spellings, and no records exist on the internet that I can find for any of them. Both John's (GGF & GGGF) each had 10 children, so there should be relatives out there some place. GF (Edward) had only two daughters. First daughter (Ruth) died at 18 in Attleboro, MA. Second daughter (Alma, my mother), as earlier indicated, died in Attleboro, MA in July of 1980.

Any information please e-mail me at

Thank you all.

Hello, I have nothing on your MacKinnon line, but am really interested in your surname, Dobra.

Can you tell me if you have any information on a Daniel Dobra who emigrated to the US in 1849? He was born in 1825 in the Duchy of Nassau, married Christina Schaefer, lived in New York, Pittston, PA., Newark, New Jersey, and Texarkana, Texas. He
died in 1901.
