Hanover Co.: I found your query of interest. My Pearce/Pierce WADE, b ca. 1720, perhaps across the border in Henrico Co. The most promising candidate we have for his father is a Robert WADE who was issued a grant for 250 acres on a branch of Licking Hole Creek, Goochland Co., in 1733. In 1734, in another deed, he sold this land and described himself as of St. Paul's Parish, Hanover Co. In 1739, he sold some land to an Andrew WADE, relationship not stated. My Pearce WADE m twice, first to a Mary BALLINGER and then to ELizabeth (HARDWICK?). One of his sons was named Jeremiah. He may also have had a brother? named Jeremiah. The name Jeremiah was to be continued down among the descendants. Any connection to yours?

Although I have hit a brick wall on my Butler lineage, let
me know if you have any names as listed on my posting, since several surnames from both are the same. I have posted on several sites, and have been unable to come up with anything before Edmond and Nancy Butler, who married in 1867, and were in the Doswell, Ashland, VA area. I have the lineage's forward. If no information matches with yours, please let me know anyway. I appreciate your help.

Surnames: Littleberry Wade, David Wade, John Wade
In response to Charles Wilson's post on 6-6-99. I am a direct decendant of David Wade born in Hanover County, VR in 1784. He and two brothers Littleberry (born 1787) and John (birthdate unknown). They moved Southwest in the 1818 to 1820 time frame. John supposedly settled in Tennessee while David and Littleberry went on to Huntsville Alabama and each built plantations there. David Wade's plantation was lost to taxes during the depression, and I do not know what happened to Littleberry's. The Wade plantation home is listed in the Historic American building survey in Wash. D.C. and can be viewed in mid 1930's vintage photography at the HABS website. The home was torn down in the early 1940's and all that is left of the original structures that were built in 1820 is the smoke house.

I have all the info on the decendants of this David Wade, however I do know who David's father or other ancestors are. I am assuming that the Littleberry Wade which you mention in your post would be directly related and I wonder if you have detiled information that you could share with me. I would be very appreciative and happy to share with you the information I have on the family.

Thanks in advance for your help.

My e-mail address is listed and my phone number is (817)488-0427.

Not sure if there is any connection but I have read a message posted on by Janet Crump in which she speaks of a Marha "Patsy" Wade Hastings as her line.
Hope it helps! Carolyn
