I am researching the McNerlins of Hunting County PA. Oris McNerlin (4-18-1895 to 6-1976) would be my great great-grandfather. He was married to Gertrude Dell. I have records of his children and their famlies but none on his parents or siblings. If you can help me out please post a message.

my branch of the mcnerlin family come from Myroe co.Londerry I live in Scotland where there is only one other of the same name in the phone book . Any mcnerlins we know in n ireland are all related to us. As far as i have found out the name comes from a derivative of the name given to the monks who followed st columba to iona when he fled from ireland.
hope this helps..

Hi, I'm sorry that i didn't get back to you sooner, but I haven't checked the message board lately. I have not been able to find any of the family members back to Ireland or Scotland, but i'm sure that there is a connection there somewhere. I would like to stay in touch and I will keep you informed of any progress that I make. If you would like to email me, my address is ryanerichards@email.com. Thanks again. Ryan

I have info on the McNerlin/McAnerlin (same family, just spelling changed) from York County, New Brunswick, Canada. Could these folks be related to you somehow? I have three of the Slater family on my maternal side marrying THREE McNerlin brothers. (Thomas, James , George)
Crazy eh? Look at a posting I just made regarding this and perhaps it will help! Keep in touch!

Lee McNerlin is my son from Limavady. Most McNerlins in the world appear to be connected in some way to Myroe just outside Limavady, with burial grounds in Ballykelly. I would be interested in anyone getting in touch at bmcnerlin@tiscali.co.uk

I may have Mcnerlin in my tree. I believe that my great grandmother Annie Murphy lived in Londonderry and in 1911 the census shows her living with her grandmother:

Annie McNerlin 64 Born. Co Londonderry. Widow
Rose McNerlin, 22, Daughter
Josephine Mcnerlin, 20, Granddaughter
Annie Murphy, 14, Granddaugher

Address: House No:2 Stradreagh Beg (Lough Enagh, Londonderry).

Any connections to anyone??
