Beamer in VA NC

I believe Henry Beamer was the father of John N. Beamer who married Obedience Mitchell and their son, William B. Beamer is my g-grandfather. John N. Beamer is listed in Surry Co, NCand after his marriage in Salem, Roanoke Co VA. After that he disappears. This is a 'mare's nest' of trying to figure out who is who and where and when. Seemingly, the first Beamer came to America from Germany in mid 1700s, first settling in PA. They show up in OH, WV, VA, and NC. The Snow connection is PA Quaker. Happy to share what little I know.

Sally - saw your message and wonder if you
would have any information on a Wesley Beamer
who was my grandfather. He was supposedly a
Quaker but I was always told his family came
here from England. I believe he had a brother
named Sam who resided in Fla.

The Quakers are unique, they have a set of 6 volumes of Quaker history. Most is the comings and goings, misdeeds, marriages, etc for each 'church'. No, I'm not familiar with Wesley, but I would undertake to look for him in the Quaker history, can you give me some bracket dates any anything else to help the search? you may tell me privately, at esdemio@att.net

I also descend from Henry and Nancy Beamer, through their son Frost. Although I know Henry Beamer's wife was named Nancy from his will, I have not found anything documenting Nancy's maiden name was Snow. How do you know Nancy Beamer was a Snow? Also, I heard somewhere that Henry's father was Peter Richard Beamer. Do you know anything about this relationship? Please email me directly. Thanks very much for your help.

Hello David - We believe that our Beamers may have been Quakers. But it has never occured to me that they may have been from the UK. I would definitely be interested in the marriage information and from whence it came. Beamer is also German - Bohmer, Boehmer. Thank you, Sally
