Hi, all:

I am searching for information on Dr. Louis
(Johann Ludwig) GREINER. He was apparently
born 13 Jun 1814 in Thaleischweiler (Bayern or
Rheinland/Pfalz depending on who was in charge
at the moment!), to DANIEL KARL GREINER, Pastor,
and SOPHIA FRIEDERICA geb. HARTENECK. Daniel
Karl was born in Mattstall, Alsace, France, possibly
came to Pirmasens with his parents, died in
Thaleischweiler.

Dr. Louis Greiner seems to have 'wandered' through
Switzerland to England and on to America. He
seems to have practiced in Newark New Jersey,
where he died age 60 years old in the year 1874.
Please, is there any help out there? I need
it. I can take the GREINER/ZIMMERMANN/FAUL
side of the Family back to EBERT/EBERHARD FAUL
(1616 - 15 Jan 1687).

Dear Dorothea,

Eheschliessung der Eltern:

Louis (Ludwig) GREINER studied at University Munich 1836-38. He was a member of the "Bayerischen Landtag" an the "Provisorische Regierung der Pfalz".

In a WANTED of 1850 he is described as:

"Theordor Greiner, Rechtskandidat in Thaleischweiler, etwa 22 Jahre alt, 5 Schuh 11 Zoll groß, von schwarzen Haaren, hoher Stirne, düstern Augen, proportionierter Nase, gewöhnlichem Munde, schlanker Statur, regelmäßiger Gesichtsform, gesunder Gesichtsfarbe mit schwarzem Kinn und Wangen umschließenden Barte und starkem schwarzem Schnurrbarte."

Dear Erhard,

Thank you for this information. It expands on
what I already had very nicely. Do you know of
any descendents for LOUIS GREINER? I am trying
to trace down as many descendents of EBERT/EBERHARD
FAUL, (1616 - 15 Jan 1687), of Winzeln Pirmasens
as I can find for a resource project. There is
a lot more of them around than people think!
Louis Greiner was one of them. So far I've only
found descendents in Germany, France, and the U.S.
but I wonder if any went to Australia or South
Africa? It would be fun to connect with those
that did.

Thanks again.

Dear Dorothea,

my researche on Louis Greiner is in connection of the German Revolution 1848/49 - therefore I know nothing about descendents. Sorry!

The following entry - I think - will be of some interest for you:

"London, 11. März. Louis Greiner, Mitglied der frühern provisorischen Regierung in Rheinbaiern, ist nach Newyork abgereist." Deutsche Arbeiterhalle, Nr. 11 vom 15.3. 1851.

I am interested at the date and place of death of Louis Greiner - would you be so kind to give it?

Kind regards!

Erhard
