The story of Joseph Ziamek just about knocked me over.I remember the story that was told to me back in the early 60s about how a hobo was burnned to death at the slag pit where he used to sleep to keep warm.I have forgottn about that story until I read your site. As a young kid me and my friends love to go and watch the Tonawanda Iron slag train dump its load. Their was a man named George who was the gard at the slag pit. He would let us kids watch if we behaved. We got to know George over time and he would tell us stories of things that had happened around the area over the years and that story was one of the stories he used to tell us. Just want to Thank You shareing that story again.
