Stanley G. Wygonik

Stanley G. Wygonik, 87, of Elizabeth Township, formerly of Port Vue, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth. Born Nov. 12, 1924, in McKeesport, he was a son of the late George and Victoria Balinski Wygonik, and was also preceded in death by siblings, Helen, Dorothy, Victoria, Eleanor and Edward Wygonik. Stanley was a graduate of the accounting school at Robert Morris College, and served with the Navy in World War II aboard the USS Oconto. He was a retired buyer for Westinghouse Corp.'s Bettis plant, and was a member of St. Mark's Parish in Port Vue. He is survived by his brother, Walter G. Wygonik and wife, Barbara, of Port Vue; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the DANIEL F. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 4504 Walnut St., Versailles Borough. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mark's Parish, Port Vue, by the Rev. Daniel Straughn. Interment with military honors to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, White Oak.
