Does anybody actually know anyone with the surname "WYGOLD" there are indeed many different ways of spelling the name i.e.:Wiegold, Waygold, Weygold etc.... all we know of our name is that it somehow came from Ireland in the 1800's. But as the records from Ireland are somehow no more in existence we know not how our name came to Ireland. As I am presently residing in Germany, I, being a rather nosey individual, decided to take a look in the whitepages here, low and behold there were indeed "Wygolds" living in the same district as I was. After contacting them they reassured me that there was no way we could be related as their family had never been to Ireland they had stayed in Germany all their lives. But something just doesn't fit "Wygold" is certainly no English name and above all it is a very peculiar name. In my eyes we have to be related in some way as there are indeed "Wygolds" in the U.S. and "Wygolds" even fought in the 1st world war for Canada against the Germans. We just can't make head nor tail of all the information that we have received. A pity it is then that the "OLD PEOPLE" who could have answered our queries are no longer with us. So once again anyone with any infirmation no matter how small please contact me I would be very grateful... thanks STUART WYGOLD
