Pauline Margaret Patterson,
Pauline Margaret Patterson, 58, wife of William "Bill" Patterson, of 112 Baucom Park Drive, Greer, died Thursday, April 13, 2000.

Born in Larne, Northern Ireland, she was the daughter of Howard and Olive Derrick Wallbank of Haslemere, England.

Originally from England, she and her family resided on Long Island, N.Y., for seventeen years, before coming to the Greenville area in 1986.

She was employed by Old 96 Girl Scout Council, Inc. and was the Older Girls' Program Specialist. She was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church and the Church Choir. She served on the Board of the Children's Hospital, was past president of the Greenville Symphony Guild, Board member of the Heritage Chamber Society, and past president of the Greenville County Youth Orchestra. She volunteered with cancer support groups, the American Red Cross and Girl Scouts of America. She was also involved with many other community organizations.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Joanna Patterson Ebert and her husband David of Fairfield, Conn., and Helen Patterson Helvey of Greenville; a son, James Patterson of Chicago, Ill.; a brother, Roger Wallbank of Sittingbourne, England; and two grandchildren, Katie Helvey and Daniel Ebert.

Memorial services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at John Knox Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. John Brearley officiating. Visitation will be held today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 600 North Main Street, Suite 2, Greer, SC 29650-1641.
