If I have it correctly, Susan Sprinkle Condra was the daughter of Michael Sprinkle & Mary Jane Hibden. Is that right?

The father of Michael Sprinkle was named Micajah.

Moses Sprinkle (b. c. 1821), who was a half-brother to Michael Sprinkle, applied for Cherokee citizenship. However, I guess the application must have been denied because I'm told that he is not on the rolls.

In any event, Moses claimed Cherokee blood two ways:
(1) Through his mother, Susan Kendrick. Susan was not your Michael's mother; I think his mother was Micajah's 2nd wife, Elizabeth Ball. Thus, Susan Sprinkle Condra would not have any Indian blood through the Kendrick line.

(2) Through his grandmother, Sarah Thomason (or Thomas, in one record). Sarah was your Michael's grandmother. So if that claim is true, then Susan Sprinkle Condra would have Indian blood through the Thomason line.

I'm not sure what it means if he applied for citizenship but it wasn't granted. Was it because the claim was false or because of some sort of administrative issue. I don't know. But I do find it curious that he was the only member of his family to apply for citizenship.

Susan Sprinkle Condra's brother George lived in Indian Territory. Maybe family stories about an Indian connection somehow came about because of where George lived.
