Hi fellow researchers,
I'm back after a wee break as I have had my DNA results and it's interested me to tie up some loose ends. The Soady's (from which I have inherited a huge percentage of Irish DNA thanks to Amelia Bickham, grand daughter of Peter Saundry b:1801 in Donegal (maybe)...any clues on that would be appreciated!)
I am searching for info on John Soady b: 1799-1801 ish in Talland. His parents I believe were Robert Soady b:1766 and Jane Rendle b:1776. Robert had 3 siblings; Joan, Joseph and William. Some were born at Stoke Damerel (as he was) and some in Looe. John Soady went on to marry Elizabeth Ann Rowett and their son John b: 1844 was married to Susan Welch.
It is a common mistake on a lot of trees to place the wrong John Soady here.
The son of Joseph Soady the coast guard was born around the same time in Tresco, Scilly Isles. That John died in his 20's after being married to Julia Delisle for a short time.
I can trace back to John and Susan accurately but his father, the John b:1801 ish is a bit of an enigma. Mainly because he was a stonemason. And the Soady's up until then from Robert b: 1766's thread at least, were all mariners. I smell a rat.
If anyone has any clues I'd appreciate it. I may have the wrong parents (Robert and Jane).
Cheers all and happy researching!
