Peter J. Nialetz

Peter J. Nialetz, 80, of East Main Street, Plymouth, formerly of South Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Saturday in the Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born July 3, 1923, in Lee Park, he was a son of the late John and Grace (Sweeney) Nialetz. He was a mechanic in the Army Air Force during World War II. Prior to retirement in 1992, Mr. Nialetz was a lifelong real estate and insurance agent involved with various agencies and projects including the Saw Creek development in the Poconos. He was an active member of St. Aloysius Parish, Wilkes-Barre.
His brother, John ``Mike' Nialetz, died Oct. 18, 2002.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, the former Frances Durkin; son, Peter J. Nialetz Jr, of Plymouth; granddaughter, Greta and her husband, Tony Romano, of Hockessin, Del.; great-grandsons, Thomas and Luke Romano.
Funeral will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday from McLaughlin Family Funeral Service, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, with Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Aloysius Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Hanover Township.
Friends may call Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
