Hi

The fact we have wapentakes and not hundreds in Yorkshire plus the fact that -kill is a Dutch/Low German placename suffix that features in New York state made me guess at New York. However a Google search shows I was a bit too far north as this Google search result shows .....

"Formerly part of Murderkill Hundred, originally called Motherkill Hundred, kill meaning creek in Dutch. Original boundaries were St. Jones Creek on north, and Murderkill Creek on south, extending from Delaware River to Maryland line. In 1867 Murderkill Hundred was divided into two
hundreds named North Muderkill Hundred and South Murderkill Hundred."

Regards
Mark
