Thomas & Mary Ann were married in Wales in 1865. I don't know when or where they came into Australia. I first find them when their first child Matilda was born in Malmsbury Vic in 1867. I would assume they came to Victoria but I don't know. I have had Victorian shipping researched and there was a Thomas and Ann Davis on the "Netherby" which actually departed from Wales on route to Queensland. The Netherby founded on King Island and the passengers and crew were rescued and taken to Melbourne. All but 170 of the original continued their journey to Queensland on the City of Melbourne. I thought I had a winner with this as the 170 passengers who didn't continue on to Queensland were settled at place called Warraquil later named Netherby. Considering that Warraquil and Malmsbury are near Ballarat I thought I had found them only to find out the Thomas and Ann Davis on the Netherby actually continued on to Queensland.
My Thomas and Mary Ann had two more children born in Ballarat in 1870 and 1872. Then the next child born is Catherine Walker Davis in Dunedin 1875, then Leah 1878,Thomas 1879, Albert 1880. The next child is Richard 1883 born in Sydney. I think all the children returned to Australia with the parents. All the daughters married in Sydney.Matilda married in 1884 in Sydney and she returned to NZ sometime between 1898&1900.Albert has returned to NZ as he married there in 1907. Thomas the son born in NZ in 1879
died in Sydney in 1894. Richard the last child born in 1883 in Sydney he also went to NZ where he died. The only child I can't account for is Catherine. Thomas Davis died in 1898 and Mary Ann in 1892 Catherine is listed as one of the issue living on both.
