OBITUARY

Mrs. Eliza M. Myers, daughter of John and Hulda (Nunly) Meyers, came to Klickitat with the parents in September, 1881. Her father crossed the plains to Oregon in early days and settled in Yamhill County, Oregon, where he died several years later. Her mother was a native of Tennessee. Mrs. Young was born in Yamhill County, Oregon in October 1867 and was educated in the public schools there established.
She was married in Klickitat county at the age of seventeen to J.O. Young, who passed away, August, 1934. 7 children were born to this union of which five are living. Bessie M. Tobin, Goldendale; William J. Young, Goldendale; Della M. Ward, Toppenish; John M. Young, Goldendale; Nellie Sarsfield, Vancouver; also three brothers and one sister, Alex Hamilton, Goldendale, Mary Danbrook, Glenwood; Ariah Meyers, Goldendale; Uriah Myers, Brewster. Fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, also survive.

While confined in St. Joseph Hospital at Vancouver last April, she was confirmed in the Catholic faith.

Funeral services were held from the Holy Trinity Catholic church, Friday, August 16th at 10:00 o'clock a.m. with Rev. Father Lee officiating. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery beside her husband, who preceded her in death, a little less than a year ago.
