David Cauldwell, born 1763, died 1858, married Hannah Henton, born 1763, apparently approximate dates, married December 28, 1794, in Rockingham County. Descendants I've added to the data base, mainly from Maris Genealogy Home Page by Raymond L. Maris, include sons William, John and David, born in the early 19th century. The Maris records show William married Sarah "Sallie" Crim and had Alan, born 1829, and Harvey, born Oct. 23, 1831, but had no record of children for John or David.
There also is no record of children for Alan of Harvey, but Maris' records howed Harvey married Prudence Ann Cummins in August 1860.
I have nothing further to back up this information, and have not yet pursued possible descendants of the other male Cauldwells.
Another Caldwell marriage in my Henton data base comes from the Poage Genealogy by Williamson, Williamson, Bishop & Woodworth. Manly Morrison Caldwell married Henton descendant Willie Brown Walker on June 3, 1888, and this family apparently lived in the Roanoke area. Pogue identified M.M. Caldwell's parents as John H. and Virginia (Graves) Caldwell,. I don't have a birthdate for Manly Morrision Caldwell, but the Poage Genealogy lists Willie Brown Walker's dob as November 29, 1859.
Many descendants of the Hentons have picked up the "Hinton" spelling.
The possibility, thus, exists that your Lorenzo Hinton Caldwell could be part of my Henton clan. I'd be glad to hear about anything you can find along these lines.
There may be more Cauldwell's in the Maris data base, which can be found with a Google search.
