Please don't change your ancestry away from the Daniel Dinkle from York County, PA over my concerns, which I still hope to eradicate through further research. I'm not sure that Margaret Riehl was still living in 1781; she may have died before her father and Daniel may have relocated to Frederick County, Maryland - I just don;t understand why he would have left the children behind with Margaret's family?
My ancestry descends from Peter Dinkle, born 1742 and the brother of the Johann Daniel Dinkle born 1741. Off the top of my head Peter had a son born in 1770 and then that Peter married Hannah de la Planck. Peter and Hannah had a son Daniel who was born in 1793. Daniel and his wife [Elizabeth Fahs] had a son, John Fahs Dinkle, born about 1830 or so, and then John Fahs Dinkle married Anna Mary Rebman and they had a daughter [Margaret Dinkle] born in Jefferson County, West Virginia in 1871. Margaret Dinkle was my great grandmother. Don't mean to be cryptic but I'm at work and trying to recollect this data from memory.
