The Polk County Memorial Museum will be presenting “Quanah Parker Exhibit: One Man, Two Worlds” during September and October of 2019.
There will be a reception opening on September 5th from 5-7 p.m. and a special event on Saturday, September 14th from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. to celebrate the first annual state-wide Quanah Parker Day as designated by Governor Gregg Abbott.
This is a great small museum with lots of exhibits explaining the known history of Polk County. The museum also has several books and booklets for sale about Polk County History. There is now a reprint A Pictorial of History of Polk County which was first published in 1976. This is a large hard back book with a lot of interesting information about early settlers and lots and lots of pictures of them. The museum will have these books for sale.
