I have since found that the maiden name should be Dipert, and also that she did indeed pass away in Deschutes County, Oregon. The 1940 census finds her still in the state mental hospital. The reason she is not on the family tree as of yet in detail is because she is my grandmothers birth mother and I am still trying to locate concrete information on her. Since my grandmother was born in 1916, it is hard to find the information I need on her adoption. I do not have her birth certificate in hand, so I don't even know if it was a sealed adoption or open adoption. Dora's husband in the 1920, 1930 and 1940 census find him across the state line in Walla Walla County. 1920 says he is married, 1930 says he is widowed - but I know that is not true. Trying to find out why, if Willet Dean and Dora Ogden already had 2 children, why did they put my grandmother up for adoption. My grandmother was adopted, apparently, in La Grande, Union County, Oregon just after birth by William Henry and Katherine Elizabeth Harbin Hamilton. I am finding little bits here and there, but usually a large amount of time between findings.
