My sister had her DNA tested and it showed no Indian heritage. However, we know that our Great, Great grandmother was full-blooded Cherokee Native American Indian. We heard stories of the Indian heritage all though our like. I am trying to find where my Great, Great Grandmother (Sarah Ann (Carney) Cross started from. She just appeared In 1857 when she married my Great, Great Grandfather, John Cross. DNA said they didn't have enough Indian blood to rate it yet. They don't tell you that before you have the DNA test. The Indian part was what we were most interested in. The Cherokee ancestry is the hardest to find because Indian names were changed to white man s names. So much of those records can't be found any more.
