I have been trying to find out more about this Currie for some time. He was known as Captain Archibald Currie, and salvaged wrecks around King Island. The town of Currie was named after him. He was part of a business in Melbourne called Currie, Boyd and J.Donaldson &Co.
He was born in Glasgow in 1830 and was third officer on the Sir William Molesworth.. His most famous salvage job was the Netherby.
